Exposure
Know what you are prepared to lose before considering any position. A position size should come from your own plan, not from a lesson or a promise.
777™ LEARNING NOTE · 04
Risk is not a footnote added after the chart. It is part of deciding what a study can and cannot justify.
THE CORE IDEA
The 777™ framework is designed to help learners describe conditions, mark references, and review decisions. It does not remove uncertainty, guarantee a fill, or prescribe what any individual should risk.
01
Know what you are prepared to lose before considering any position. A position size should come from your own plan, not from a lesson or a promise.
02
Write what would make the idea no longer worth pursuing. A clear boundary is part of study, even when the outcome is disappointing.
03
A well-organized chart can still be wrong, incomplete, or overtaken by new information. Waiting is a valid result of analysis.
04
Judge the quality of the process separately from the market outcome. One result cannot prove or disprove an entire method.
BEFORE ANY DECISION
Can I describe the market condition without predicting its next move?
What evidence would change my mind, and have I written it down?
Is waiting or taking no position a valid outcome here?
Am I following my own risk plan rather than reacting to a result?
